Bognor in January

Having been stuck indoors with colds much of January, we watched the weather for a suitable day to go to a beach.  Ideally with rough seas, and a fantastic sunset. Got the stormy seas, but the sunset was disappointing. Tea and cake was good though!   I took tripod, big stopper, filters and 4 lenses, and was determined to use all 4. Mission accomplished.

3.30ish. 18/250 lens

3.40ish 18/250.   Bit of warm glow now, but sun about to disappear behind clouds.

3.45. Macro lens for the rusty bolts on the groins

3.53 and still using the macro lens at F32

John and Martin. 3.55, and now on the wide angle 10-20
4pm. 10-20 lens with big stopper 15 second exposure

4.10 and still on the wide angle. The groins go on forever here.

4.13 and one other person waiting for the sunset.

4.21 at the other side of the pier.

4.23 and the sun just about to disappear under the pier

4.40, and sun gone

Big stopper 30 seconds

5.17 and pretty dark but 35mm lens now at at 7.1 just needs 3 second exposure.

35mm and at F11, 15 second exposure

He moved!  8 second exposure

5.21 and really dark now, but 35mm at f4.5 just needs 0.5seconds.

A disappointing sunset, but good place to experiment.
